RCPCH Trainee Committee Chair election - frequently answered questions

Voting will open for this role from 19 May until 16 June 2025. It is open to all registered UK Paediatrics trainees who are on a CCT programme and registered with RCPCH. Below are answers to some FAQs.

What does the RCPCH Chair of Trainees Committee do?

The chair forms a vital part of the work of the College, representing trainee views on issues of service and training along with the wider work of the College. The Chair is required to represent trainees on several RCPCH committees and to represent the College at meetings with other medical organisations including the Academy of the Medical Royal Colleges, Health Education England, the Department of Health and the GMC.

Who is eligible to vote?

Members eligible to vote and eligible to receive voting papers and vote are ll registered UK Paediatrics trainees who are on a CCT programme and registered with RCPCH.

When can I vote?

Eligible members can vote from 12:00 noon (British Summer Time) on 19 May. Voting closes on 12:00 (British Summer Time) on Monday 16 June.

How do I vote?

Eligible members will be able to vote online only.

An email from our independent scrutineers Civica Elections Services (CES) will be sent to eligible members with a link to vote.

As part of the College's environmental policy, ballots will be distributed via email only. If you have not received your ballot information by 26 May please contact the Governance team on the below contact form.

When will the winner be announced?

Voting closes at midday on 16 June. The winner will be announced on our website after our independent voting scrutineers have tallied each vote and reported back to the College.
