Through this scheme, GOSH Charity and LifeArc are inviting milestone-driven applications that aim to improve the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment of rare disease or that focus on developing research tools that increase the efficiency of developing interventions in rare disease. For the first time, the 2025 call will be open nationally to academic researchers from eligible Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the United Kingdom.

To support research fellowship projects into the causes, treatment, prevention and psychosocial aspects of epilepsy.

Grants to support pilot or start-up studies. Must be a novel piece of research and not part of an already funded project.

Allows exceptional established research leaders to pursue groundbreaking, high-risk projects that open new directions in their respective research fields or other domains.

These grants support researchers who are consolidating their own independent research team or programme.

Aims to support up-and-coming research leaders who are about to establish a proper research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe. It will support the creation of excellent new research teams.

Open to researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant. This will be additional funding to establish the innovation potential of ideas arising from the ERC-funded research projects.

The awards are designed to allow exploration of theories with the potential to open new avenues of investigation. Projects funded through this scheme should be pilot awards. It is intended that the scheme will allow the generation of sufficient data to support applications for larger scale projects.

Aims to identify excellent early-stage non-clinical researchers and provide support so they can establish themselves as leading researchers in the brain tumour field.

This scheme supports the identification, validation, and implementation of clinical biomarkers that bring us closer to an early and accurate diagnosis, and/or inform the management of brain tumours.
